A young boy was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon after being hit by a car on Anthony Eden Drive in Wrexham.

Police and the ambulance service attended the scene at around 4.35pm.

A police car blocked the top of the road one way for around an hour as emergency crews dealt with the incident.

The Daily Post reported that an 11 year old boy was taken to hospital with concussion and a suspected back injury.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We were called at 4.35pm to reports of a boy being hit by a car. He was taken to hospital but later discharged. The incident involved a green Citroen C5.”

Nige Harper (@Nige_Harper) alerted us to the situation yesterday afternoon, he said: “Accident on Antony Eden Drive. There is traffic building up. Car versus a child. I think.”

He added: “It did look serious. We didn’t get too close as we turned into road. Hope he’s ok.”
