[quote quote=92833]It is another example of social engineering by the Welsh Gov, with short term funding and little actual research into whether it was viable in Wrexham. The failure is the failure of the Welsh Gov and their increasingly facist Welsh language agenda.

Sorry to disappoint you lads, but I am not going to indulge in an online arguement with a stranger, for your edification. He Has told his version of the story, I’ve told mine. What or who you believe is immaterial I neither court nor care about your good or bad opinion of me. You will have to find your entertainment elsewhere.

The butthurt is strong with this one.

Why bother posting it in the first place, then?

You posted an opinion that was potentially libelous and then the other party posts a response and you throw your toys out of the pram.

If you’re going to get THAT upset, don’t post a load of old cack in the first place.

My point has been made, end of.

To be honest sounds more like you were stung by a botched job than anything else.

It happens and it’s not right, but you’re getting your knickers in a twist with the wrong people.

“little bit of understanding of what things actually cost”

I think you’d benefit from an understanding of that. If it’s something that you can just “do yourself” (which of course you can), then it’s paradoxical to suggest people shouldn’t look for a cheap option. The ability to do it yourself means that tradesmen have to be priced competitively. The fact that aerial installs range from around £50 to £500+ means that some are fattening their wallets more than others for a relatively basic service (that you can do yourself).

If you REALLY want to stride forward on this crusade of justice of yours I suggest you find the manufacturers of the materials used in an aerial install and pay them more money. But I suspect you’re just butthurt for the above mentioned reason.

This again is a misleading statistic — if they are nearly 3,000 down from last Electoral roll what about all the extra people that have moved into the area to boost the base population — overall it must be far greater than 3,000 or all the hype about inward migration to the area and more people living her is not correct.

You are right re the effect on the Election results as demographics and voting patterns have changed dramatically — look what has happened in Greece over the weekend.

You have to register to vote – even if there is population growth via immigration it doesn’t exclude the electoral roll dropping

I work in the Industry and I know that isn’t true for all students.

So basically those who don’t pay are:

    A) those that don’t use transport (i.e walking distance)
    B) those who *have* to travel to attend their nearest school

Obviously A is moot. B is more applicable for a rural site like Penley. Though I agree pumping less pollutants into the atmosphere can only ever be a good thing, coach travel is, on the larger scale, a relatively environmentally friendly way to travel.

You need some perspective if you consider that a waste of ‘petrol’. In the grand scheme of things that is nothing.

I imagine you’re probably more annoyed at the disturbance?

Is it really the function of an educational facility to be investing in Sports Grounds, and opening campuses in various locations. Only this week it has been announced that they are involved in founding a campus in Malaysia to teach aerospace engineers. The University is already in deep trouble regarding student visas, and it begs the question if they should be focusing on the educational needs of North Wales and UK students.

Aside from establishing an international presence, international centres also bring in a lot of business/money to the institution. This is really fantastic news for Glyndwr, and it’s not to the detriment of North Wales/UK students. There’s a lot of movement towards opening ‘hubs’ and centres nationally/globally at the moment and I think that is the way the trend will continue.

Smoking should be banned in cars full stop! I can’t believe it hasn’t already. It can be just as dangerous as using a mobile phone. What happens if somebody drops a cigarette in their car whilst driving? The first thing they will do is panic and take their eyes off the road – and I get so annoyed when ignorant people throw their cigarette ends out and hit my vehicle! Total ban for me.

As a smoker and a driver I’ve got to agree with this.

I think mobile phones whilst driving are the greater of two evils though, and I’d rather the police concentrated on that one, as it seems to be a ridiculously common occurrence and shouldn’t be.

It’s just a basic fact that a cyclist (and indeed motorcyclist) is at much more risk than someone on four wheels so instead of raging just tut and drive on, there’s not really anything else you can do. Some cyclists may do annoying things, so do some pedestrians, so do some drivers. There is absolutely no point in singling any group out as there are idiots in all walks of life.

Although 4 is good you can actually see the difference between 4 and 5 so if someone has a 2, 1, or zero! then what the hell are they like.. !

different standards from different cultures ????:eek::eek::eek: that comment might provoke ;)
