Im not suggesting that everbody should and I also know that not everybody could, but why don’t those who can – do, and look after the area in front of their houses, its time people took more pride in their own areas again and stop whingin all the time!! Grass, litter all sorts, yes ‘its the councils job’ but face reality – cuts are gonna get worse!

Really sorry Lee – as a fellow FT worker / payer I’m sure that you appreciate most of what we get – it annoyes me that ‘we’ pay for it and ‘seem’ to be worse off!

”There again, they can’t put up the council tax, so why not tax the working council tenants.” said Lee Dsu.

Hey Mr Lee, do you think that the ‘working council tennants’ who pay full rent & CT get a better deal than you then? Guess again matey, tell you what tax me some more please!!

Reply to Benjami’s quote ‘ To put it simply: Councillors set policy and ensure adherence. Officers implement.’
That is correct, Officers do implement – but when public don’t agree with an agreed decision – some Cll’s jump to their defence and argue against a policy that they voted for!!

Thanks for the offer of your big tool, but I’ve managed to clear the passage with a power washer and flushed all the logs round the bend.

    SAVE WATERWORLD !!
Regarding ‘consultants’, they come into organisation to ‘save’ money. They look at specific things, get the exsisting overworked staff to do their job for them and then submit a fancy & over complicated report of their findings. Their expert findings can save £millions but only if savage cuts are made – nothing practicle, workable or even any mention of a viable replacement – they then take their overblown fees and move on to the next one – clever stuff. Their reports are then accepted as gospell and front-line staff have to continue providing the service with slashed budgets!
