ChillDoubtParticipantIronically, maybe he could fill in the questionnaire via the link that’s supplied in this news story?

ChillDoubtParticipantAverage speed cameras for the A483,A5156 are a no brainer, especially if they incorporate ANPR .They will stop the roads being used as a racetrack. If you stay within the law you have nothing to fear.

Think you’re missing the issue. It’s not a matter of cars speeding everywhere(have you seen the A483 at rush hour?), it’s more about the extremely minimal impact on environmental benefit the 50 mph will make.September 25, 2018 at 2:05 pm in reply to: "Give your feedback on plans to place average speed cameras on Wrexham bypass" #156395
ChillDoubtParticipantI concur with moggsie.
Whoever dreamt this initial scheme up is quite frankly trying to justify their position and would struggle to organise a pillow fight in a dormitory.
As has been pointed out elsewhere, what about those joining from the slip roads?
During my first driving lesson on a bypass my instructor encouraged me to attain a speed of 70 mph in order to join traffic correctly. Joining at 50 is pure folly.
I’m sure there are far better ways and schemes to promote better air quality by cycling, car share, park& ride and other anti-sedentary lifestyle encouragement.
Furthermore, any benefit from the 50 mph limit is surely offset by the amount of times traffic is brought to a standstill on the A483!
ChillDoubtParticipantMust admit my first thought when I read about the defibrillator being sited there was: If there’s no CCTV in that telephone box it’ll sprout legs.
Not even vaguely surprised at tonight’s headline, can’t believe it stayed there as long as it did.
ChillDoubtParticipantIndeed, just what we need! I mean, we haven’t got enough Costa Coffee/Express shops in town have we?
Let’s have ANOTHER one but site it in a dead end.
Brilliant idea!
ChillDoubtParticipantLOL at Owain Glyndwr.
Sheefag,
But can you honestly say that the colour scheme is appealing or eye-catching?
As for the rest I can only assume that Cardiff ‘gets all the good stuff’ due to the ineptitude of WCBC, their inability to organise a pillow fight in a dormitory(Ty Pawb looks to be a waste of money already) and the centre of town not 200 yards away from Ty Pawb is a collection of derelict shops!Whilst walking past it just the other night I couldn’t help but notice the doorway with its freshly splintered glass panel.
ChillDoubtParticipantNot visited the website yet but can anybody please tell me why it’s been painted black and grey??
I can only assume that somebody got a job lot of cheap WWII paint from a former Wehrmacht Quartermaster.
As I was walking into town recently from the direction of Bodhyfryd I couldn’t help but notice that the building bears a resemblance to the Guard Tower at Dachau Concentration Camp(yes, I’ve been, sadly). Please do something about the terribly drab and depressing colour scheme, it does nothing for the waning image of Wrexham town.
ChillDoubtParticipantNot been yet but from everything I’ve seen thus far via this site and social media I’m expecting to be decidedly underwhelmed.
ChillDoubtParticipantpete,
Apparently the footpath will remain open, so no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use it.
The general congestion that will be caused anyway might encourage people to cycle to work as traffic will still be slow-moving at rush hour, I would imagine.

I’ve never yet seen that happen but do get frustrated when lines of traffic form because drivers have not got the spacial awareness to negotiate the bridge. It can more than adequately cater for two lines of flowing traffic, it’s just poor driving.
If you’re not prepared to do so, please DO NOT use that route, you’re holding up those of us who can drive properly.
That said, the closure is a fantastic opportunity for people to cycle to work in the middle of summer. -
