Plenty of grand sounding ideas for the town put before the Executive Board, but what’s needed now is a good old clean up of the town centre. Filthy stinking empty shop , door fronts, piles of litter behind Macdonalds on Regent Street, Market Street car park has weeds growing out of the drains, broken uneven pavements covered in grease and chewing gum. The overall appearance is uninviting. Councillors and the chief Executive should take a walk around the town they have the power to get it sorted. The flower beds look lovely!

I’m not sure that the cleaning of shop & door fronts come under the remit of WCBC. Most of them are privately owned. Not sure either about MacDonalds but the Market Street car park most certainly does come under their remit. Maybe Streets & Public Places could advise. https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/service/contact/report-it

Fake news….. We are a City now. Everything in Wrexham is now fantastic. The Council Leader has spoken and informed us. Go out and see for yourself the overnight brilliant improvements. Awesome.

Take your point about ownership but if you walk down Regent Street and Hope Street you will see open fronts that have been used as toilets and much else. A good regular wash down is needed. What property owner is going to object to having their frontage cleaned for them ? At the moment they are probably a public health hazard.

Even though the Council may not own the properties they have the power to take action and charge the owners – they should also do more to prosecute offenders – there is enough CCTV evidence. Is it right the money has not yet been allocated – it is hoped they will get the funds but is competitive across North Wales.
