billycoenParticipantGood idea about the agony column, you could invite Gina Miller to be a guest contributor.

Rex HamParticipantHave a care people. Ms Atherton is doing the right thing by self isolating (apparently to the extent of not even replying to e-mails from her constituents). Now if we could persuade her to live in splendid isolation for the next couple of years…..

SimonParticipantLet’s be honest….
Everything Atherton does will be scrutinised and criticised by the usual suspects. And it’s plain to see on social media. They’re faster than a greyhound out of a box.
It’s boring. Blame blame blame the Tories for everything.
They’ll sit in Saith Seren with political banners watching Scottish Independence on TV, sing Meibion Glyndwr on Bootlegger videos.. March up Caergwrle Castle in a paramilitary style with berets and sunglasses more akin to the Falls Rd. There was no sunglasses when Owain Glyndwr was around.
They are extremists. They attach themselves to Wrexham AFC as an extreme Left group. Export their political views and violence on the streets of Dublin and UK. Take it up to Glasgow Rangers when the town played there in a cup game. Wrexham FC is now regarded by UK football fans as a club which has an allegiance with Celtic Football Club…
What a slap in the face for the people of Wrexham whose sons and daughters have served in the forces.
An absolute embarrassment and slur on Wrexham town.
Backed up when a democratic vote goes the wrong way.
Blaming everything on the Tories when we are governed by a Welsh labour assembly.January 15, 2021 at 11:22 am #198945
Owain GlyndwrParticipantSimon, you are obviously a passionate Tory and “the usual suspects” being the likes of Matt are obviously Labour. Accept that East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet!
As for the rest of your rant ….
They’ll sit in Saith Seren with political banners watching Scottish Independence on TV, sing Meibion Glyndwr on Bootlegger videos.. March up Caergwrle Castle in a paramilitary style with berets and sunglasses more akin to the Falls Rd.
They attach themselves to Wrexham AFC as an extreme Left group. Export their political views and violence on the streets of Dublin and UK. Take it up to Glasgow Rangers when the town played there in a cup game. Wrexham FC is now regarded by UK football fans as a club which has an allegiance with Celtic Football Club…I like the idea of marching up Caergwrle Castle to celebrate Welshness and it was the last castle to be built by Welsh rulers before the loss of independence. Do you have details of when the next event is please?
With the Rangers comments, “The claim has since been denied by Wrexham supporters, including commentator George Randles.
He said there were a “few incidents between Celtic and Rangers supporters,” promoting a Rangers fan to reiterate the accusation and instead slam Welsh fans who “sang IRA songs.”
Mr Randles however rejected this claim, commenting that “the IRA songs were not from any ‘Wrexham fans’ that’s for sure.”
He suggested that it was in fact the 50 to 100 Celtic fans who “shouldn’t have been able to get hold of any tickets” anyway.
Mr Randles later acknowledged that “maybe there was a few idiots from our lot too,” but warned against “tarring everyone with the same brush.”So Simon you have fallen into your own “blame blame blame” trap.
Can you identify these people or are you making it up after a night on the pop?

MattParticipantSimon is firing off pot shots and being very wide of the mark on all counts.
Yes, there are a large contingent of us Labour minded who you are right, won’t ever be pleased to see the likes of Atherton representing the town.
However, it’s certainly not one size fits all as he’s also having a pop at Welsh Nationalists with completely unfounded stereotypes. So, as it stands it’s not even an accurate representation of local Plaid or Wrexham fans and means the rest of us who are critical of Atherton do not fall into a single type of complainant either.
The left extremist rant very much sounds like Twice Impeached President rhetoric to me.
We’re not all tank aficionados who love a bit of a combo of Ronald McDonald and Sgt. Bertha Blast to ‘take the reins’ for the town.

Owain GlyndwrParticipantDon’t know what half of that meant Matt but i’ll have a pint of whatever you are on.
If you look at some of Simon’s recent posts, they are much the same.
“Everything Atherton does will be scrutinised and criticised by the usual suspects.”
“They are extremists. They attach themselves to Wrexham AFC as an extreme Left group. Export their political views and violence on the streets of Dublin and UK.”“Atherton had only been elected to Pariament under a month and the usual suspects started slating the state….”
“Some of them export their political agenda in the name of Wrexham to the violence associated with the Dublin football derby games..”“All that’s left is for the usual suspects to ‘Tory bash’ on forums.”
The ones before Tory Power are Wrexham bashing posts. Worth a laugh though:

MattParticipantAll you need to know is:
Also, it sounds like Simon has a major fascination with Keyser Soze. We’ve all seen it Simon and we all know the ending.

MattParticipantI stand corrected, she’s more like Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now.

zingerParticipantI have a relative living over the border who watches PMQ during lockdown & has a said on a few occasions how well Sarah Atherton speaks up for Wrexham. Never watch it myself so can’t comment personally but my relative was well imoressed.

MattParticipantSarah Atherton wants billions spent on nuclear arsenals and navies to protect landlocked Wrexham constituents. She considers this to be a far better use of taxpayer’s money and the ever increasing national debt, than to pour the money into something sensible that would actually save lives, such as funding the NHS across the 4 home nations.
