Are there people who park in the hospital car park and walk into town to work ? Do you know of anyone who is selfish enough to do it ? Maybe portable CCTV cameras would help establish the facts.
People are unbelievably selfish when it comes to parking. Maesgwyn Road gets absolutely hammered every day with people parking. Majority are hospital workers who can’t be bothered to find somewhere on site. Also postal workers, people who work in town, shoppers, people using the trains. Then there’s the football crown on the weekend, which isn’t really a problem for a couple of hours but after a week of everyone else using the road as a car park, you get sick of it.

Last week some selfish individual parked in such a way as to make the road impassable for the recycling truck. As a result, 20+ houses had no collection after Christmas/New Year and have had to wait until today as the council refused to come back out.

The council will not implement resident parking unless they all pay for it, which the majority are not prepared to do. Instead, they illegally cone off space outside their property, causing even more chaos and congestion. The whole situation is a complete mess.

Attlee and co were out of government and dead long before my time. I am making a comparison based on actions and achievements. Corbyn has achieved very little, unless you count handing the keys to no.10 Downing Street on a plate to Boris Johnson and turning Wrexham into a Conservative seat as achievements!!! He hasn’t helped young people – he lost and is not in power.

You can only achieve what the electorate let you achieve.

Like just after the Second World War, in December, a socialist manifesto was on offer.

The only difference is that this time, the mediocre judgement of the electorate frustrated it. They picked Johnson.

As for the hospital and parking, I gather that there are private hospitals around that are less busy.

A number of us over a number of years advocated a bus link from town to the hospital, which would also link train stations, university and some shopping complexes . We need to reduce ou dependence on the car.
N.B, – when I worked there many moons ago I had a scooter!

You would struggle to park your scooter now, cars are parking in the area marked for motorcycles and scooters.

I have noticed that all available parking spaces at the Maelor main front entrance are mostly taken up by approx 8.15am and remain with the same cars in them until approx 5.00pm. This leads me to believe that these could be mainly staff parking. BCUHB complain of patients missing appointments due to parking problems.

Could I suggest that BCUHB make the first two rows of the parking area on the right of the main entrance a short stay area with parking limited to 90 minutes. I believe this will help patients having to go round and round looking for parking space, whilst also deterring non hospital people parking in there and walking into town.

Go on then. Suggest it to them and see if they even bother acknowledging your suggestion. I’m sure they’d much rather ignore the problem altogether or spend several thousands on consultants, than act on a sensible suggestion from Joe Public.
