Why has Wales got over 800 people in hospital with Covid , roughly 10% of all hospitalised cases in the uk , when our population is only 3.5 million roughly 6% of the UK population? In addition we have kept mask wearing in shops, on public transport and covid passports for nightclubs.

We have 5% of the UK population. It was a question on The Chase!

A lot cannot be arsed to wear masks in shops now so thats not a help but we must be doing something very wrong because England don’t need to wear them at all.

*My thoughts are that the issuing of false negative PCR test results for Welsh residents may be contributing to this uncertain epidemiological position but other factors including a possible impact of increased transmissibility of the Delta sub-lineage AY.4.2 requires further investigation.

    *not really

There is a need to look at the underlying health conditions of many of the people in hospital in South Wales – unfortunatly many of those being addmitted have a wide range of pulinory and breathing conditions from many years working in the pits and steel industries.
The distance to travel for boosters is also presenting a problem not only in South Wales but here in the North as well. The further to travel due to GPs not being able to adminsister the Phizer does due to temperature controls is a major issue for rural areas.

The final point has alredy been highlighted on numerous occasions peole in Wales are not being compliant with the regulations for face covvering and isolation. Massive change in attiture of individuals required to avouid the overly couldnt care less attitude

But even so masks are not compulsory in England and from what I see the majority are wearing them in Wales even in settings where they don’t need to but cases are rising in Wales! although cases have been going down in Wrexham for the last few consecutive days.

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

Looking at the latest information on Daily Post it looks like election activity may be a cause for increased infections – strange how Gresford and Marford are now amongst some of the highest in the area at a time when people were going around ‘unmasked’ promoting their candidates.

“Among those averaging nine cases per day are the districts of Aberystwyth South and Gresford, Marford & Rossett, the latter being the worst affected in North Wales since the pandemic began.”
