Brilliant example today of gross mismanagement of the Full Council meeting with a fiasco issue of IT. Clearly we have a Council chamber that has the technology befitting of a City- the Council had money from WG to invest in technology for meetings in year one of Covid – why then did the farce occur and what will be the remedy.
Perhaps the buffet budget could have been spent bringing in a few IT students from Coleg Cambria or Glyndwr to get the system operational.
If part of the granting of city status is virtual will the Council spend thousands of pound brining in a specialist contractor for the event??
Failing democracy from day one with Council Members joining the meeting remotely not being able to take part at all.
IT has never been a council strong point.
From a council chamber sound system that was replaced, rather than maintained and the councillors instructed in how to use it correctly, to the parking space indicators.From the old bus signage, which didn’t work as specified for decades, but was, and in some parts still is, powered up consuming electricity, to the new one which has been meaningless from virtually switch on now being nothing more than a very expensive clock for more than two years.
Let’s not forget the street WiFi!
A system that was out of date when first proposed but is still not functioning despite all the investment and promises.Just the tip of the iceberg, I suspect.
All that money wasted whilst we’re told there’s no money available for essential things!
The children, the children! Won’t somebody please think of the children!!!
