Isnt it about time something is done to prevent accidents on this stretch of road?
Every week there is another accident, people and animals have been killed, surely a speed camera or a barrier running down the middle is justified by now.

Absolutely unbelievably bad stretch of road.

NOTHING getting done about it, even though an accident seems to happen there on a weekly basis…you’re literally dicing with death every time you take that route!

How many more accidents & deaths will it take before someone does something about it??

Nothing will get done. I’ve been complaining (along with lots of other people) about the speeds on the A5156 Llan y Pwll link road for years, nobody gives a crap. The A5 must be THE most dangerous road around. GoSafe and Road Policing just don’t care I’m afraid.

If Go-Safe were truly about slowing traffic down they wouldn’t hide on bends or bridges. They’d make themselves highly visible. They’re tax collectors, pure and simple.

The road should of been made a dual carriage way all the to Shrewsbury from the ruabon junction instead the larger road width we have now. Also it does incentivise people to overtake more when your stuck behind people doing 40mph.

Bring the kerbs in to narrow the road and double white lines all the way from Gledrid to Halton with CCTV to catch muppets who still want to overtake. Much like the muppet in the Audi at quarter to 6 this morning who wanted to overtake the wagon in front even though the opposing lane was shut, double white lines and no overtaking signs.

Councillors for that area & the surrounding areas, should be doing more/joining forces, to lobby the necessary bigwigs & organisations.

As was said above, it really should be dual carriageway to Shrewsbury as it’s the major route into the midlands and beyond. You only have be traveling south around rush hour to see the traffic built back all the way to Ruabon, purely due to volume of traffic because it’s narrowed down from dual to single lane, same can be said from the other direction I’ve no doubt.

Now the high bridge(s) are there, there’s no chance of it becoming one due to the cost involved, but it just shows up the false economy involved with original planning!
