Wrexham.com Launches Live Election Day Coverage
With only one day to go until the polls open for the 2012 local elections our new Wrexham.com office in The Foundry has been a hub of activity in preparation.
We kicked off our coverage all the way back in January by writing about the open evening for prospective candidates and were the first media outlet to publish the full candidate list.
Another Wrexham first by us was the circulation of a Question and Answer letter to *every* candidate for the council which received 40 replies.
The aim of our coverage has been to engage people with local politics and to help them make a decision on who should represent them.
Tomorrow we will be taking this a step further by providing a live around the clock coverage with all the latest developments as election day unfolds.
This will kick off at 10am (Polls open at 7am though!) as we visit polling stations around Wrexham to speak to voters, then at 10pm once all votes are in we’ll be attending the count to let you know who will be representing you for the next four years.
The culmination will come at some time in the small hours of Friday when all the winners are declared and we return bleary eyed to our beds, can of Red Bull (other caffeinated drinks are available) in hand.
We hope you will join us for what will no doubt be an interesting day – get in touch via our forums, tweet us @wrexham or give us a ring throughout the day to report anything good / bad or indifferent
