Welcome to our coverage of Wrexham’s local elections that will be held on May 3rd.

We were the first media outlet (on or offline) with the full candidate list, which we made nice and readable for you rather than the weighty council document! You can view the full candidate list here. Our coverage had started with the ‘open evening’ for prospective candidates back in January.

Another Wrexham first by us was the circulation of a Question and Answer letter to *every* candidate for the council. We have had some replies and they are linked to below. We have collated the replies per ward, which is the area represented by someone elected, so choose where you live and have a read !

If there are no replies or your ward is not listed below, it means the candidate has not replied, or has chosen not to take part. We did inform them when we would close this off, and that we would ’empty chair’ any non responders !

Q&A With Wrexham.com Replies – 40 local candidates bothered to reply so we would encourage you to read what they say !

The following had ZERO replies: Acton, Bryn Cefn, Cartrefle, Cefn, Gwenfro, Marchwiel, Marford and Hoseley, Minera, New Broughton, Overton, Ruabon South, Plas Madoc, Smithfield, Stansty and finally Wynnstay.
We did send letters to the sole candidates in Llangollen Rural,  Johnstown & Esclusham but they didnt reply however as they are single candidates there is no election there.

The Wrexham.com team will be providing full election day coverage kicking off at 8am on May 3rd and concluding when all votes have been counted in the evening, you can follow our @wrexham twitter account and our site for updates!

Some cracking debates are underway in our forum involving some of the candidates and Wrexham residents – take a look over here and register (its free & easy!) to join in.

Our other exciting news is that the Wrexham.com site has now been fully relaunched and a firm base in the town centre will follow very soon to help us give you and Wrexham the site it deserves – keep your eyes peeled & join in !
