1 – Which party do you align yourself with, and why? (Or if non aligned, why not?)
Now we have Leanne Wood in the driving seat. The Welsh Assembly can now up anchor and sail to make good for the people of Wales, it has been with us now with little effect to date. I believe that Leanne can and will improve the lives of the people of Wales. The only party that has Wales at the top of its agenda, not Westminster.

2 – What will be your first personal priority or aim if you were elected?

To retain the £11.2 million that is currently flowing from our council in Wrecsam annualy to subsidise London Borough. We need this revenue for social housing for our people in Wrecsam locality.

3 – Why do you personally want to be a councillor when so often you just get blamed for problems beyond your control?
My Father Dr Gareth Williams was truly a community minded person, I want to follow in his footsteps with the values I was brought up with to help, support and encourage my local community. I believe the council is there to work for the people they represent. The people of Coedpoeth deserve a voice and I will be honest, open, visible and accountable to the people.

4 – Many politicians and local councillors are accused of bring out of touch with voters. What will you do to ensure you stay ‘in touch’?

I promise to hold regular drop ins, arrange home visits, get involved in community activities, quarterly news letters. You will know who I am because I am there to serve you.

5 – How do you plan to tackle or prevent anti-social behaviour in your local area?

Working closely with the police and youth service. I know a lot of the youth in Coedpoeth and have a good relationship with them. I would like to offer existing services in the Village a mentor service using my counselling, learning coach, SAP training and over 30 years experience in working with children, young people and their families.

6 – Do you think any local authority has the means to improve economic and job opportunities? And if you do, what do you think the priority actions should be?
I do believe the authority has the means to improve economic and job opportunities. These need to be channelled into providing traineeships to gain skills for youngsters needing a trade when leaving school. Reducing rents and rates for small local businesses to enable them to thrive and employ local people within their business, train them and offer them employment and further opportunities. Recognise educational failures in our schools and provide the skills, tools, assessments and appropriate learning paths for achievement for young people to reach their potential.

7 – What do you think has been the best decision taken by the council in the last four years?
To install the County’s council homes with solar power PV, reducing the carbon footprint and providing tenants with cheaper energy costs.

8 – What do you think has been the worst decision taken by the council in the last four years?

Failing to listen to the majority of Wrecsam people that did not want City Status, and the proportion of elected councillors that voted against the peoples choice, unbelievable.

9 – What is your favourite place to visit or favourite thing to do in the local area?

My favourite place is the Saith Seren in Wrecsam, listening to local bands, bringing in a variety of welsh bands on a regular basis, comedy nights, the atmosphere in the rugby was second to none, good food.

10 – If you had to pick your best memory connected to Wrexham, what would it be?
The Eisteddfod in 1977 when it was affordable.

Llewelyn-Jones – Independent

1 – Which party do you align yourself with, and why? (Or if non aligned, why not?)

I do not believe in party politics at a local level.

2 – What will be your first personal priority or aim if you were elected?

Police presence and cctv cameras in village centre.

3 – Why do you personally want to be a councillor when so often you just get blamed for problems beyond your control?

Because many people in Coedpoeth have asked me to.

4 – Many politicians and local councillors are accused of bring out of touch with voters. What will you do to ensure you stay ‘in touch’?

Regular surgeries and meeting people in the village where I spend alot of my time.

5 – How do you plan to tackle or prevent anti-social behaviour in your local area?

As question 2, plus encouraging people to be more vigilant.

6 – Do you think any local authority has the means to improve economic and job opportunities? And if you do, what do you think the priority actions should be?

Concentrate on young people and the over 50’s.

7 – What do you think has been the best decision taken by the council in the last four years?

Double yellow lines from Bradley Road to ambulance station. They should do the same on Watery Road to improve access to the hospital.

8 – What do you think has been the worst decision taken by the council in the last four years?

Increase in parking fees.

9 – What is your favourite place to visit or favourite thing to do in the local area?

Enjoy a pint watching football at my local the Cross Foxes.

10 – If you had to pick your best memory connected to Wrexham, what would it be?

Being born here and the opportunity to serve the people.
