Sunday 23rd September sees stars from Only Fools and Horses, Red Dwarf and American Pie land in Wrexham as part of this years Wales Comic Con.

This is the perfect opportunity to meet with global stars of the film and television industry as well as actors, writers and animators. The full list of confirmed guests are available here: http://www.walescomiccon.com/#/guests/4565923891

Held at Wrexham’s Glyndwr University site, the event promises to be a great day out for the whole family. The day will be of particular interest to those with an interest in film and television, especially those with a penchant for sci fi, comic and cult offerings. The day promises to be full of autograph signings, Q & A sessions, photo opportunities , the chance to buy lots and lots of shiny merchandise, and much, much more.

The big draw of events like this tends to be the celebrities on show, and this year’s event is no different. There’s some big names, some new names, some familiar names, some names that you’ll be able to put to faces, and some names that may be totally new to you. This year’s event features the likes of Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Merlin, Little Britain), Thomas Ian Nicholas (the American Pie series), Gareth David-Lloyd (Torchwood), John Challis (Only Fools & Horses’ Boycie), Jeremy Bulloch (Star Wars’ Boba Fett), Chris Barrie (The Brittas Empire, Red Dwarf’s Rimmer), Robert Llewellyn (Red Dward’s Kryten), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones, Soldier Soldier), Billy West (multiple Futurama characters), Warwick Davis (Star Wars, Willow, Harry Potter, Life’s Too Short), Julian Glover (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones) and many more names that you’ll be familiar with. Also expect to come across a few unheard of gems; that’s part of the fun.

The entry price for the day is a very reasonable £5 for adults and £3 for those under 14. You can no longer purchase tickets online but you are still able to pay on the day. There are also autograph and photograph opportunities available with some of the guests, with these being an additional cost. The prices for photographs with the guests tend to be in the £10 to £15 range. You may also want to bring a few extra coins to exchange for goodies in the ComicZone. You’ll have the chance to meet various writers and artists, even having the chance for one of the artists to draw your favourite character if you’re lucky. There’s also the chance for a good ol’ dress up, as well as your chance to have your photo taken with the KITT car from Knight Rider.

Doors are open to the general public from 11am to 5pm, with those lucky enough to get an early bird ticket being allowed entrance from 10am. There’s also the small matter of the after party at Central Station, with a performance by the Thomas Ian Nicholas Band. This event is for persons aged 14+ and the cost is £8 per person.
