Details: OPERA CYMRU follows last year’s highly successful productions of Macbeth and Barber of Seville, with a new Welsh-language version of Tchaikovsky’s great operatic masterpiece Eugene Onegin.

Onegin is a dissolute snob who derides his friendship with the young poet Lensky, and patronizes the romantic dreamer Tatyana for passionately declaring her love to him. Through his wilfulness and arrogance, Onegin kills his best friend and loses his one true love.
