Description: Wrexham will once again be celebrating National Playday on Wednesday. People of all ages, from babies, children and young people to parents, professionals and grandparents, are invited to join in this free and fun event. We will have the usual water slide and sandpit as well as some new play opportunities.

Our campaign this year is supporting children’s play we aim to do this by publicising Article 31 of the UNCRC which states children have a right to play. We have been asking children, families, work places and individuals to make 31’s out of anything they can lay their hands on and then send the picture to the Play Development team. The images will be displayed at Playday, but if people want to see them before hand they are on twitter @playwrexham and some are on the Wrexham Council facebook page.

Over 3000 people visited last year’s Playday event and we aim to make this year’s even bigger and better, but this can only happen if you come along and join us. All we ask is you bring along a playful mood and some clothes you don’t mind getting wet and messy. In the past families have brought along picnics and stayed all afternoon!
