Details: A talk entitled “THE GWENFRO VALLEY – WALKING THROUGH HISTORY” is being presented by the Wrexham Area Civic Society”. It is to be given by Ray Jones.

Ray was Wrexham born and, after a career in education, retired to the area and has written three books on the landscape history of the Welsh borderlands.

The Gwenfro River rises near Gwynfryn, then flows past Coedpoeth, once a village with mining and mineral connections, eastwards past Offa’s Dyke, and through Wrexham, with its old tanning and brewing industries. It is an area steeped in history.

Visitors are welcome, the meeting is free. Come and find out more about the activities of the Society at the meeting.
