The newly refurbished St. Giles Parish Church, Wrexham is to host its very first fashion show.

Presented by ‘Just The Right Thing’ Ladies fashions of Oswestry, the event is in support of the charity Arthritis Research UK

Arthritis Research UK is
– The biggest funder of research into the cause, treatment and cure of all forms of arthritis in the UK
– Undertaking work to take the pain away from people living with arthritis
– Enabling people with arthritis to remain active, doing the things they love.

Despite the fact that 1 in 6 adults in the UK suffer from this disease (with its huge consequence on suffering as well as productivity in the workplace) the government provides no funding whatsoever towards all this research. Indeed a great deal of this research is undertaken at two of our local – but internationally renowned – hospitals. They’re Orthopaedic Hospital Gobowen and Alder Hey Hospital. What may not be so well known is the fact that some 15,000 children (more than 1 in 1,000) in the UK suffer from arthritis as well. It simply is NOT an old person’s disease.

Organiser Janet Morgan had this to say:

“St Giles Church is nearing the end of its substantial internal modernisation scheme and it will provide a great setting for a memorable and rewarding evening. It really would be wonderful to fill all 400 seats on the night!!

The Fashion Show will take place on Monday 1st October at St. Giles Parish Church, Church St, Wrexham LL13 8LS. Doors Open 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £10 and include a glass of wine, cheese and biscuits.
