Volunteers from North Wales Miner’s Association Trust will be opening the gates of Bersham Colliery, Rhostyllen, Wrexham, LL14 4EG on Sunday 25th September 2016 for the last time this season. Free admission and car park..
Bersham has the only remaining colliery headgear in North Wales and the winding engine still in situ 30 years since the last colliery in the Denbighshire Coalfield closed.
‘Tony the Lamp’ will be in the engine house with an impressive selection of his lamps. Bring your own lamp along for him to identify between 11am and 4pm.
The miner’s museum bus will be on site.
There is scaffolding around the engine house due to ongoing work.
