Wrexham FC are set to play Woking at home in their opening fixture of the conference season on Saturday, 11 August it has been announced today.
The match presents an interesting tie against the newly promoted side.
Woking had been rumoured as the red’s first fixture after it was seen on a leaked fixture list which appeared briefly on the conference website.
The reds face a couple of tricky ties in August away against recently relegated Macclesfield on the 14th and home to promotion rivals Grimsby on the 25th.
The home leg of the Welsh derby against Newport is scheduled to take place on September 1st and the dragons travel to promotion favourites Luton on the 15th.
There’s also a Boxing Day (H) and New Years Day (A) double header against local rivals Telford.
There are due to be three games over the Christmas and New Year period in the conference this season, compared to just the two last year, but the season will wrap up a week earlier than usual on Saturday 20 April.
This is due to the use of Wembley for the 2013 Champions League Final, so the BSBP Play-Off final has been brought forward to Sunday 5 May.
The final of the FA Trophy has also been switched from its usual May date and will now be played at Wembley on Sunday, 24 March.
