Wrexham FC have received a bitter blow this afternoon after the results of a hospital scan ruled out centre back Mark Creighton for the entire season.

The scans taken on Tuesday show that Creighton has torn his medial meniscus, ACL and MCL, as well suffering articular cartilage loss.

He sustained the knee injury in the reds 1-1 draw with Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

The club said that this means his season is “virtually finished” with no current timescale for any return.

However, they said that the centre back, who is fondly known as the Beast to fans, is in good spirits and has been buoyed by good luck messages that he’s received.

Here at Wrexham.com we’d like to pass on our best wishes to Mark, who is currently in the process of opening up a tattoo studio in the town.
