Wales under 21s UEFA European Championship qualifier game against Armenia looks set to go ahead tonight despite bad weather.

Torrential downpours have hit most of Wrexham this afternoon but stadium owners Glyndwr University said that the game should go ahead as planned. The referee will make his final decision on whether the game is on at 6pm, but the university said the pitch is fine as things stand.

Wales Intermediate teams manager, Geraint Williams, has named his U21 squad for the UEFA clash and it includes several familiar faces including former Wrexham keepers Chris Maxwell and Danny Ward and Daniel Alfei from Swansea who was on loan with the reds last season.

Dragons striker Rog Ogleby who netted in Wrexham’s opening game of the season was put on the standby list, but didn’t make the final cut for tonight’s game.

Kick off is at 7pm and tickets can be bought from the Glyndwr University Sports Centre or the foyer of the Mold Road Stand after 6pm. You can also buy them online here.

Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £3 seniors/students and under 16s can get in for free.
