Wrexham FC will be holding their annual open day on Sunday 5 August to give the supporters a chance to come along to the Racecourse and meet the players.

Reds fans will even get the chance to take part in a match on the pitch against a team of former players including Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones (in goal), Darren Wright, Waynne Phillips, Lee Jones, Karl Connolly and possibly Billy Ashcroft – with others to be confirmed.

Gates will open at 10am with Andy Morrell leading the squad in a training session on the pitch from 10.30am to 11.30am.

They will then head for the sidelines to sign autographs and have their photographs taken with the fans.

There will also be guided tours of both the Yale and Mold Road stands led by members of the Former Players Association.

Back on the pitch the Junior Dragons will be taking part in a penalty shootout competition.

Supporters who fancy themselves as the next Mark Creighton, Glen Little or Andy Morrell are invited to help raise funds for the club by buying themselves a spot in the fans’ side to take on the former players.

For just £100, up to 22 supporters will make up the fans’ team, playing in one 20 minute half against the ex-reds.

All players will receive a voucher that they can exchange for one of the new Adidas 2012/13 Wrexham shirts (as revealed by us yesterday) once they become available.

Of the 22 places, 11 are available to secure online by clicking here, while the other 11 can be claimed from the club shop, either in person or over the phone 01978 262129.

Please note that the Yale Car Park will be closed to traffic, as there should be a number of stalls and attractions taking place behind the Yale Stand, including a bouncy castle and face painting for the kids.
