This year, Ysgol Rhiwabon has decided to help the community and vulnerable people from the area by partnering with the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW) and helping in their 4th Annual Homeless Collection.

As part of the school’s Welsh Baccalaureate qualification for 6th form students, they will be setting up a food bank, helping people in our community (Ruabon, Plas Madoc, Acrefair, Cefn Mawr and Chirk).

Between 12th November and 10th December 2012, the students will help sort out the items brought in and then distribute them to the local community.

The school are asking families and friends to join this cause and donate for the collection. They mainly ask for food that can be easily heated such as ring pull cans, pot noodles, crisps, biscuits, cup a soups and chocolate bars. We are also looking for warm clothing, hats, scarves and fleeces as well as donations.

You can also find out more about the Collection from the school website and AVOW’s website.

Your support and donations would be greatly appreciated.
