A group of friends and their families have been left “extremely upset and shaken up” after being threatened and having their bikes stolen by heartless thieves.

Joe, 12 and George, 13 were playing in Bellevue Park with their friend on Sunday afternoon when two young men approached the group.

The men, who are believed to be aged around 17 and 18, approached the group at the entrance of Bellevue Park before threatening them and stealing the two mountain bikes. They were seen riding the bikes through the park, however it is not known which exit they left the area from.

Joe’s bike is described as being a Scott Aspect 735 and is pictured above. George’s bike is limited edition Carrera and is blue and black.

Both Joe and George have been left heartbroken from the incident, with Joe’s parents, Sarah and Carl, sharing an appeal to help trace the bike and find witnesses on Sunday night.

Sarah told Wrexham.com that Joe, who loves mountain biking, had “saved hard for the bike” and that the he and his friends are “shaken up and extremely upset.”

At the time of writing a tweet appeal shared by Carl has been shared over 620 times and liked 151 times. It is hoped that local businesses and homes in the area who may have CCTV footage; or those visiting the park between 3:30pm and 4pm on Sunday 17th June could help trace the bikes.
