A world-leading brass band from New York established for more than 125 years is to play its first concert in North Wales.

Wrexham’s own branch of The Salvation Army is hosting the event.

“Some of the world’s finest brass soloists play in the band and they command huge respect within the brass band community.
“It’s hugely exciting for everyone involved with brass bands through to those with simply an interest in our music.”

These include Christmas services around the town, the Remembrance Service, at Glyndŵr University’s graduation ceremonies, Nightingale House Hospice Christmas Charity Concert and at their own headline concerts.
Band member Colin Fisher and Bandmaster Chris Duckett have trained hundreds of brass players in North East Wales during their combined 71 years in teaching, Colin at St David’s (now Rhosnesni) High School and Chris at Dinas Bran High School, Llangollen.
Colin said: “Both of us have been actively involved with music in Wrexham for more than 30 years, during which time we trained a number of talented musicians. Many are still performing in brass bands and orchestras today and we hope that some will return for the concert.”
