Wrexham is under a ‘yellow’ weather warning for this evening and Monday morning.

The Met Office alert states: “Showers, heavy at times, will turn increasingly wintry overnight on Sunday into Monday morning.”

“Northern areas of England and Wales will see snow chiefly over higher ground, with more than 5 cm in places but with slight accumulations possible at low levels too. Ice will be an additional hazard across much of northern Britain.”

“The public are advised to be aware of tricky travel conditions generally, and possible disruption to transport.”

So far this year the weather warnings affecting the local area have had a mixed hit rate, with our maths currently running at around 70% accuracy.

On another forecast sleety / snow is due over us around 4am to 6am, with another cold evening in store for Monday night.

As always we will update as and when we get new information, or look out of the window!
