Nail and Beauty learners from Yale College are celebrating after taking part in regional heats for UK Skills in Warrington against other regional candidates keen to gain a place in the finals later this year.

Level 2 Beauty learners, Charlotte Jackson and Amy Davies were delighted when Charlotte was placed first and Amy third in their Intermediate Beauty sections. Adding to the excitement and celebrations – shortly after the awards ceremony, Charlotte was identified by one of the judges as a potential candidate for TeamGB.

TeamGB is a huge accolade and may offer Charlotte the chance to compete in World Skills in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2015.  Charlotte’s results make her the first Beauty learner at Yale to receive such positive feedback with a potentially career changing opportunity

“The latest student successes reflects their enthusiasm and high level of commitment as well as dedicated support from their tutors,” says Julie Guzzo, Assistant Director of Curriculum for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at Yale College

Level 2 Beauty learners Amy Davies and Charlotte Jackson entered Intermediate Beauty and performed a facial, luxury manicure and half a leg wax.  Charlotte Jones Level 3 Spa student entered for Advanced Beauty Therapy showcasing her talent in face and body electrical treatments as well as performing a back massage.

Level 3 learners, Sioned Davies and Rachael Hughes who are working towards their Nail qualifications, entered Advanced Nail Art and Advanced Nail Enhancements after scooping 3 and 1 place respectively in the Welsh Skills competition in March.
