Wrexham’s MP has launched a campaign to celebrate those in the town and the surrounding area that have given back to the community during the Covid-19 pandemic

Sarah Atherton MP is encouraging everyone across Wrexham to take part and celebrate the town’s ‘Covid Community Champions’.

This can include anyone from an NHS worker or care worker, a teacher, someone who started a community group during the pandemic, or anyone who has been an inspiration to others during the past year.

Commenting, Sarah said: “I know that the past year has been incredibly difficult for many people throughout Wrexham.

“However, I also know that the town’s community spirit has been as strong as ever, with people from across Wrexham contributing in different ways to the fight against Covid-19.

“As such, I want to celebrate those that have given back to the community during these tough times.

“Please do nominate anyone that you feel has been a champion or hero throughout the pandemic, no action or activity is too small.”

Anyone can nominate their ‘Covid-19 Community Champion’ with nominations open via Ms Atherton’s website, www.sarahatherton.org.uk. The nomination form will be open until the 7th May, with Sarah and her team then judging the entries.
