Wrexham’s Laura Deas wins medal at Winter Olympics

A triple win took place this afternoon, as Wrexham’s Laura Deas won a Bronze Medal in the Winter Olympics skeleton event in Pyeongchang-gun, South Korea.

Not only did Laura achieve a medal, but she was the first Wrexham athlete to win a medal at the Winter Olympics, and also the first Welsh athlete.

The 29yo from Wrexham finished third in the Skeleton with teammate Lizzy Yarnold taking gold – Deas won bronze by 0.02secs – with the BBC Sport video clip below:
