Liam Randall meets Ruby the Wrexham Train Pony

Wrexham.com reporter Liam Randall today had a chance encounter with the world famous train pony in Wrexham town centre.

The white pony called Ruby was tethered up outside The Welch Fusilier pub at lunchtime whilst her owner, Joe Purcell, was inside having a drink.

Local people looked on in awe at Ruby and queued up to have their picture taken with her.

Liam said: “I was on my lunch when I spotted Ruby tied up and asked my girlfriend to take a picture of me with Wrexham’s most famous resident.

“I asked Ruby out for a pint of carrot juice to discuss her new-found fame, but she turned down my requests with a resounding ‘neigh!’

Ruby and Joe were later spotted entertaining children in a park close to the Smithy Garage.

Wrexham.com was one of the first news agencies to release pictures of the pair before the story hit the media in countries as far afield as the USA and Australia.

If you spot them on their seemingly never ending journey around the Wrexham area send us a tweet or picture to @WREXHAMdotcom
