Wrexham Libraries are inviting children, parents, nurseries and playgroups to visit their local library to be part of National Storytelling Week.

Storytelling is the oldest of the communicative arts and National Storytelling Week aims to increase public awareness of the art, practice and value of oral storytelling amongst towns and communities across the UK.

Storytelling can be found enriching lives everywhere including nurseries and schools, as bereavement aids in hospitals, in support groups for those with special needs and in theatrical performances.

To celebrate every library in Wrexham is hosting a free storytelling session. Static libraries are located in Brynteg, Brymbo, Cefn Mawr, Chirk, Coedpoeth, Gresford, Gwersyllt, Llay, Overton, Rhos, Ruabon and Wrexham.

Booking is essential so please contact your local library for more information or ring Shân Cooper, Children’s Librarian at Wrexham Library on 01978 292643. Full contact details of all Wrexham Libraries are on www.wrexham.gov.uk/libraries
