Wrexham Fundraiser Donates Hair To Children’s Cancer Charity
A Wrexham woman has raised hundreds of pounds and had inches of her hair cut off in aid of a children’s cancer charity.
Fiona Hallam from Wrexham has raised over £400 for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Overall it costs £350 to buy a wig and £2000 to make a wig in such a small size.
Fiona has also donated locks of her hair to the charity, which will be made into a wig for a child living with cancer. The hair cutting took place at the Hair Lounge, Rossett where over 12 inches of Fiona’s hair was cut off for the Little Princess Trust.
Writing on her JustGiving Page, Fiona states: “One of the regrets that I have is that I did not cut my hair off when my Mum lost hers with cancer treatment. My Mum talked a lot about what hers would be like when it came back, but unfortunately we lost her before it did. Seeing how her hair loss affected her I can only imagine the distress and confusion it would cause to a child. Cutting my hair now will not bring back my Mum, but will, in my own illogical way, right a wrong.”
Fiona’s JustGiving Page is still open and active – if you want to make a donation in support of the Little Princess Trust then more info can be found on Fiona’s JustGiving Page here.
