Students from Yale College Creative Media Production course have again scooped the North Wales prize in the Road Safety Wales Anti Drink Drive competition.

The fifth All Wales Multimedia Competition was launched in September 2012 with a challenge to all Welsh schools, colleges and youth groups to devise, perform and record a multimedia presentation with an anti drink-drive message in time for Christmas. Participants were encouraged to use a variety of genre: film, music, PowerPoint, poetry, animation – the choice was theirs. For their considerable efforts, four regional winners have been selected by the judges to receive a prize of £500.

It is the third time in four years that the Yale media students have won the top prize of £500, in addition to the £200 they collected for initially winning the Wrexham prize.

The Mayor of Wrexham will be presenting them with their prize tomorrow.

Yale College entered the annual competition this year with “Where’s Nan?” shows the effects of the loss of a well-loved family member on those left behind. The full video is below:

Team involved: Matt Daly, Charles James, Olivia Mallon, Kerianne McDonald, Charlotte Roberts, Fraser Dwight, Connor Foreman, Joshua Cookson and Chelsie Cooper.
