A not for profit community venture that helps find new homes for used furniture and bric-a-brac items is celebrating finding its own new home this month.

New 2 You: Wrexham Reuse Centre has had a successful year at its base in Queensway and is now looking forward to moving to improved premises on Whitegate Industrial Estate.

The centre sees an average of 6 tonnes of furniture and bric-a-brac items saved for reuse each month and subsequently finding space for repair, storage and sales has been an issue along with the failing quality of the centre’s current premises on Queensway.

Daphne Roberts, Development Manager at New 2 You said: “We’re delighted to be able to go ahead with the move, although it must be the equivalent of moving house a hundred times. Winters should be bearable for us and our customers now, with a working heating system and we’re also looking forward to entering the 21st century by having hot, running water in taps rather than the cold rainwater coming through the ceiling!”

With the new premises opening on 1 August the centre is having a major clear out with a clearance sale running from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 July, from 9am until 4pm each day.

Daphne told us: “There are boxes and boxes of general bric-a-brac and glassware, books, toys and music, plus some items of furniture, including suites. We really need to clear the surplus stock out before we move, so we’d love people to come and get a special bargain.”

New 2 You takes in donations of any type of household item and claim that they can find a home for just about anything.

With particular shortages of beds and bedroom furniture, as well as small kitchen items and bedding, collections are made without charge to the customer within the Wrexham County Borough area.

Collection days are limited until after 1 August when daily collections will resume. To start the reuse process for your unwanted items, phone 01978 449121 or contact New 2 You through their website at www.new2youwrexham.co.uk.
