Wrexham residents are being warned to ensure they lock and secure their sheds and outhouses following a recent spate of opportunist thefts.

Between Tuesday and Thursday this week a number of sheds and garages were broken into overnight in the Lancaster Terrace, South Sea Road and Fron Road areas of Wrexham where power tools, mountain bikes and camping equipment were stolen.

The mountain bike is a black and white JT Aggressor with a distinctive chain guard and a home made splash guard on the back made of inner tube.

Local Officer Sergeant Arwel Ellis said “North Wales Police are working hard to prevent and detect crime and are asking that residents help by taking steps that will make it difficult for offenders to gain access to their sheds and outbuildings.

“Many thefts can be prevented if steps to protect the property are taken. Please ensure that your shed is locked using a heavy duty pad lock and that your shed is in good condition with any damaged area replaced or repaired.”

Sergeant Ellis added: “Any person who would like more information on protecting their property can contact their crime prevention officer at North Wales Police by contacting 101. Indeed any person who has any information on these crime should also contact Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
