Shaun Evans from Coedpoeth was this month recognised for the owning of ‘High-View Studios‘, a company that specialises in tailored software, website development and tutoring.

The company officially started trading at the start of June and comes as a result of Shaun’s lifelong interest in computing and technology.

Shaun said: “My interest in ICT started when I was about 10 years old when I started playing on Powerpoint making little film presentations. Then when I was 14 my interest gone towards designing and making games on the computer. That’s when I first started to learn about the basics of programming and how to put projects together

“I also got a 2.1 degree in Computer Game Development. I have been programming software for about three years, including education games development.”

The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme helps young people who are interested in self employment or starting their own business ‘explore and test their ideas, write plans’ and subsequently start their own business or achieve alternative outcomes.

Since 1983 The Trust has helped more than 80,000 young people set up their own business with 56% of Trust-supported businesses are trading into their third year.

Shaun said: “I heard of the Prince’s Trust enterprise programme last year, the way they help young people get their business ideas alive, so I went on the course in February which just an idea and a company name. since then I got a business plan and I am start trading officially in June 1st.

“I always wanted to own a company and coming to the end of the course in Glyndwr I was thinking about my options. A friend suggested that I go to the Prince’s Trust, so I did. After six months I was accepted on an Enterprise Programme and it all started from there.

“They are really helpful to you and you learn about all aspects about business, finance to marketing. They helped me with my business plan and guided my idea in the right direction.”

Shaun added: “It is a really good trust to get into if you are young and wanting to try and go for it. With the current job situation at the moment, it could be another way to get into work.”
