A 26-year-old man from Wrexham has been jailed for just over two years for domestic burglary, with a further penalty for driving dangerously.

Andrew Murphy aged 26 from Brymbo in Wrexham appeared before Mold Crown Court today and was jailed for 27 months for a domestic burglary dwelling and for driving dangerously in order to evade police capture. The offences took place in July 2013 in the Brymbo area.

The court sentenced Murphy to 21 months imprisonment for burglary and 6 months concurrent sentence and a two year disqualification in relation to his dangerous driving.

Investigating officer, DC Lynne Willsher at Wrexham CID said: “People should not have to fear strangers coming into their homes and stealing their personal items and this sentence demonstrates that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated by North Wales Police or by the courts.”

“The community have a right to live without the fear of crime and the sentencing reflects the judiciary hold the same view. Rest assured that North Wales Police will constantly pursue offenders in order to prevent offending so that the public can feel safe”
