Wrexham has had an invitation to host the 2017 or 2022 National or Urdd Eisteddfod.

As it is very early days all that is asked from the Council to express an interest, and the proposal was that Wrexham Council write regarding the Urdd rather than the full national one.

The council were told 2017 ‘looks awefully close’ and it would be a ‘big ask’ to raise the cash needed to host another event as close as the current one.

Clr Dutton expressed how 2017 seemed quite near to him, but supported the recommendation!

The proposal was agreed, so fingers crossed we get the Urdd.
