Wrexham DSA FC Celebrate 2016 Achievements at Awards Ceremony
The ongoing efforts and achievements of Wrexham DSA FC have been celebrated at an awards ceremony.
Wrexham Disability (DSA) FC ended 2016 with an awards ceremony to celebrate the amazing year they have had with the club excelling on the pitch.
The club, which boasts up to 40 people coming to training sessions each month is now regarded as the biggest disability football club in Wales.
Set up five years ago, Wrexham DSA supports, develops and enhances the lives of people within, but not limited to, the following areas; disability, mental health, substance misuse, criminal justice, social isolation, homelessness, poverty and many more.
This year the club has made a major impact on the disability circuit picking up silverware in Doncaster, Bradford, Lytham, Lilleshall as well as making final appearances at Middlesbrough, Everton, Lewes and Bangor.

All the players got an award for contributing to a fantastic year and these were given out by Wrexham FC captain Robbie Evans.
The individual award winner were as follows:
Young Player of Year – Aron Hall
Most Improved Defensive Player – Mikey Harper
Most Improved Attacker- DJ Povey
Most Memorable Moments – Jimmy Gilbert and Phil Roberts
Best Tournament Performances- Alex Hall and Dave Carr
Player of the Year – Mark Hall
Clubs-men of the Year – Simon and Dan Roberts
Manager Carl Austin said: “It’s been a brilliant night and to look back at this year with great memories and success makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“I said in my speech that the tournament wins are amazing but the special thing about our club is how tight-knit our group of players are, and for many it’s the first time they have had that sense of belonging and family unity, which makes me and the rest of the staff immensely proud.
“Next year the club will go onto even bigger things with trips to Munich and Belfast planned, as well as travelling the length and depth of the UK in search of more tournament success.”
