A new Diversity Forum is being created to improve the way that the Council engages with people in Wrexham.

The new Diversity Forum will be chaired by Councillor Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Collaboration and Partnerships and draws together residents, local groups, elected members and key officers from Wrexham County Borough Council.

The Forum provides an important mechanism for communities and groups that are often under represented in public consultation events, to share information and experiences that will be used to improve Council policies and services.

Cllr Hugh Jones, said “I am looking forward to chairing the inaugural meeting of the Forum. Through the new Diversity Forum we will be better placed to understand and respond to the different needs of Wrexham’s communities and address the legal duties placed upon public sector organisations by the Equality Act 2010.”

The first meeting will take place on the 20 November and if you would like more information about the Forum please contact Catherine Carr on 01978 298738.
