Wrexham Council have launched a live ‘beta’ version of their website earlier today.

Wrexham.com asked the Council about the website this afternoon and we were told: “The website redesign has been on the cards for some time, we had long intended to redesign for mobile/tablet devices.

“We have taken this opportunity to re-write large sections of the website, and most of it has already been transitioned.

“We have not brought in any services to complete the work, so it has all been done in-house, whilst still maintaining and developing the old website.

“We had reached a point when we were struggling to maintain the new and former website, and therefore took the decision to go live with the beta version from 1st July.

“Over the course of the next month or so we intend to work through the rest of the website.

The older look and feel of the site can be compared side by side with the newer website:

Some elements of the site still are under the old design and systems, with the Council telling us: “It is important to note that the information is all up to date and ‘current’ even where it has the old look and feel.”
