Wrexham Community Choir will be performing at the Wales Vs England Rugby Match at 2.30pm today at the Racecourse.

The choir, which has over 100 members will be singing Ar Lan Y Mor, Freedom – A South African Song adapted by Musical Director Carol Donaldson into Welsh and English and will lead the national anthems before the game kicks off at 2.30pm.

Choir conductor Carol Donaldson said “We’re thrilled to have been given such a great opportunity to perform at a major sporting event in our town and to such a big audience. It’s been a pleasure to work with so many great people over the last few months and we hope our performance will encourage other people to come and join us every week at choir practice”.

The choir meets every Tuesday at 7.30pm for two hours at Wrexham Lager Club and brings people who live in Wrexham together through song. Everyone is welcome no matter what their singing ability and since meeting for the first time in January this year, the choir have had a number of opportunities to perform across the county including spectacular performances at the Focus Wales festival, Llangollen Fringe and a peformance with Soweto musicians, Africa Entsha at St Giles Parish Church as well as singing at the Olympic Torch ceremony as it made it’s way through Wrexham.
