Children from Bodhyfryd Primary School, Hightown, Wrexham have been praised for their generosity and help in collecting unwanted spectacles for people in Ethiopia.

The campaign itself was launched a few years ago launched by Bob Hewitt from North Wales Police and Dr Claire Morton a surgeon at H M Stanley Hospital in St Asaph, who for a number of years has travelled to Africa to help people with eyesight problems.

Local PCSO Lynne Maurice who co-ordinated the effort said: “This is part of a campaign to collect unwanted glasses for children and adults in Ethiopia who are less fortunate than us.

“This campaign is different in that is we are not asking for money, so many thanks to all who have supported this over the last couple of years and a big thankyou to the children of Bodhyfryd Primary School.”

If you would like to donate unwanted glasses, please contact Lynne 07854 352 815 or email [email protected]
