A Wrexham care home has been praised for the “care, dignity and respect” that is shown to residents at all times.

The positive feedback for Plas Bod Llwyd, Newbridge, was noted in the latest inspection report published about the facility by Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales (CSSIW).

The facility provides personal care for up to 29 residents over the age of 65.

Managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association,  the care home was also praised for “warmth and sense of belonging” that people experience at the home.

Commenting on the environment at the home, CSSIW stated that “The premises are welcoming, comfortable, clean, homely and secure” and that the “home is welcoming, spacious, airy, clean and secure.”

There was also praise for the care and support to the residents, with the report stating:  “Care is given quickly and without fuss and people are treated with dignity and respect at all times.

“In regards the care provided, we were advised by one health care professional that the care and support provided was, in her opinion, excellent.”

Kevin Hughes Senior Community Care Manager for Clwyd Alyn described the CSSIW inspection report as ‘an excellent reflection on the dedication and care provided by Judith Richards, Care Home Manager, and her team of staff at Plas Bod Llwyd.’

He said: “Judith and her team can be really proud that, the excellent care and associated services they strive to provide day in and day out basis, has been validated by the Regulator.”

“We’d encourage anyone considering residential care, either for themselves, or for a family member to read the whole report provided by the CSSIW which can be found on their website at http://cssiw.org.uk

“It’s particularly encouraging that the person-centred, individual care provided by staff was commented upon and that the whole team, including catering, housekeeping and support staff were all included.”
