A Wrexham based photographer and videographer have received the top prizes at the annual Welsh Wedding Awards.

Wedding professionals across Wales gathered on Wednesday, February 19, at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff in an elegant ceremony put on to acknowledge the best that the industry has to offer.

The third Welsh Wedding Awards recognised everyone that works hard towards creating memorable and unique weddings; from wedding planners, coordinators, specialists and caterers to photographers, videographers, florists and stationary suppliers.

Despite fierce competition from around the country – on the night, two Wrexham based businesses took home national winners prizes – with both Photography by Joe Bickerton and Tim Cowell Videography winning the title of being the best in their respective categories by the judges.

Having won the title of best wedding photographer in Wales, Joe said; “Winning the award has capped off a terrific few years, both from a professional and personal point of view, in which I’ve been fortunate enough to have captured many fantastic wedding celebrations across the region.

“Being in business alone can be challenging, but the support from other professionals and the incredible venues that I’ve worked at has been so encouraging.

“I’m now looking forward to kick starting the 2020 wedding season next weekend.”

Tim was as equally delighted to have taken first place in the best wedding videographer in Wales category,  adding: “Achieving the award for Best Videographer is a great honour for me.

“To have this accolade highlighted amongst a category of equally worthy suppliers further highlights the wealth of talent that Wales has to offer. Awards such as these really do emphasise the hard work and dedication of one-man-businesses, and I’m extremely grateful to all of my customers who voted for me in this unexpected and grateful achievement.”

A spokesperson for The Welsh Wedding Awards 2020 said: “The winners represent the industry’s gold standard that work tirelessly to meet the demands of the couples and their guests. The awards showcased some of the best wedding specialists that operate in the industry, whose excellence and commitment brought them at the forefront of the industry.

“These champions are tried and tested specialists that know how to create a stress-free wedding experience, keeping the romance in the air. We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
