Weekend Engineering Works Prompt Timetable Changes

This evening Arriva Trains Wales have announce timetable amendments this weekend affecting some Rhyl-Chester-Wrexham-Shrewsbury services.

Arriva say: “Due to late notice Network Rail improvement work between Chester and Wrexham this weekend, there are some timetable amendments in the Rhyl-Chester-Wrexham-Shrewsbury area affecting some late night services on Saturday 5 September and early morning services on Sunday 6 September.

Service amendments Saturday 5 September

21.00 Birmingham International to Chester service will terminate at Wrexham General, with a connecting rail replacement bus service forward at 2315 arriving Chester at 2345.

23.33 Shrewsbury to Chester service will be diverted via Crewe, with a rail replacement bus service running from Shrewsbury to Chester, arriving Chester at 0113

Service amendments Sunday 6 September

0620 Chester to Holyhead service will start from Rhyl at 0653, and a rail replacement bus service will run from Chester departing at 0526 and arriving Rhyl at 0643.

0716 Holyhead to Crewe will terminate at Rhyl at 0820, with a rail replacement bus service forwarding at 0830, arriving Chester at 0952.

0750 Holyhead to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate Rhyl at 0908, with a rail replacement bus service forwarding at 0913, arriving Chester at 1035. This bus service will connect into the 1036 Chester to Manchester Piccadilly. The Holyhead to Manchester service will re-start Chester at 0942 and run in the booked times to Manchester Piccadilly.

0808 Chester to Wrexham General service is cancelled and replaced by a bus at 0808.

0827 Crewe to Holyhead service will start from Rhyl at 0935, with a rail replacement bus from Chester at 0806 arriving Rhyl at 0923.

0845 Holyhead to Crewe service will start later at 0900 and run later throughout to Crewe.

For football fans travelling to Cardiff for the Wales v Israel match, please change at Crewe to connect to the 12:13 train to Cardiff which will arrive in Cardiff at 15:14

0922 Chester to Birmingham International service will be diverted via Crewe and Nantwich, and a rail replacement bus service will run from Chester at 0922 arriving Shrewsbury at 1102.

0925 Chester to Holyhead service will start from Rhyl at 1023, with a rail replacement bus from Chester at 0851 arriving Rhyl at 1013.
