In the latest Met Office update this lunchtime there is a chance of thunder and lightening around 7pm this evening.

Temperatures will rise to a muggy 20C with humidity reaching 80-90%, with hardly any wind.

As a bonus there is a Yellow Weather Warning in place, that is focussed mainly on southern parts of the UK, but covers us as well. It notes there could be some ‘torrential downpours’ and thunderstorms.

The usual warning notes accompany the update: “Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services”

“Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”

As usual we will be keeping an eye on the forecasts and skies and will update as and when there is more information.
