Residents in the Ruabon area are being urged to be “extra vigilant” following a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts in the area.

North Wales Police say it has received information from the public about opportunistic thieves trying door handles and car doors.

As a result police are reminding residents to check that their windows, doors and cars are secure before going to bed.

Residents are also being asked to make sure that no valuables are left on display.

Anything suspicious should be reported to North Wales Police on 101.
