Residents are being urged to remain vigilant following a series of thefts in the Wrexham area over the weekend.

Overnight on Sunday 22 September police say thieves targeted an address in Coed Aben after gaining entry via an insecure window.

An Xbox, car keys and a wallet were stolen from the property.

Three thefts from vans also took place overnight on Friday 18 September on Park Street and Balmoral Road.

Police say one of the vans targeted was “insecure” and the other two were locked.

Expensive items were stolen from the vehicles.

A police spokesperson said: ” Opportunist thieves are about, look after your valuables.

“If it locks, then lock it or risk losing it, don’t make it easy,

“If you can’t remove your tools overnight, then consider fitting extra locks to make it harder. No one can afford to lose a days work.”
